All of the English on this disc is spoken at a normal speed, but to help you learn, Movie Talk breaks down the language into manageable and entertaining chunks using interactive games.
What will I learn?
You will develop your practical skills in English by listening to native speakers. You will also learn advanced vocabulary, phrases and idioms. You can practice speaking the language as well!
How does it work?
Watch the video. You can choose to see the script at the same time and use it to navigate to the phrases you want to hear again. Script and subtitles are all in English, so you’ll learn how to keep up with the language at full speed and you won’t miss out on the phrases and idioms used by native speakers.
Learn to speak like a television star. Dub the voices of the main characters with your own voice, then compare it to the video version.
Nothing is slowed down or changed. Movie Talk English is designed to build you up to full speed speech, so it uses material intended for native speakers, then highlights words and phrases to help you learn them.
Games keep you playing and learning long after the film has finished. There’s a quickfire vocabulary game, a spelling game, ‘What comes next?’, and a ‘missing word’ game – then you can play a virtual reality gameshow against a computer opponent to test your understanding of the film and the language.
