How we can help Primary Schools

The system of learning through rewarding games in Talk Now! and Vocabulary Builder has proved very popular with children, while relieving the pressure on Primary School teachers.

If your class speaks a number of different languages, we can also help - every one of our discs enables you to choose the language you learn from - so if a pupil struggles with English, that doesn’t mean that they have to struggle learning another language!

We can help with MFL resources as well as lots of other languages that are further afield. Thousands of UK Primary School children have already taken part in our national Junior Language Challenge, which has successfully taught pupils the basics of languages such as Greek and Zulu – it’s also taught them that it can be fun and rewarding to learn a new language.

EuroTalk is linked to the KS2 Primary framework and the Languages Ladder.

Case Study: Stockton-on-Tees EuroTalk Language Challenge

This was a Local Authority-wide competition adopted by several schools. Participants installed EuroTalk Spanish software on their networks, using the software in classes to prepare students for the competition later in the year, which used EuroTalk’s networked competition facility.

Outcomes of the project:

“Increased pupil confidence in language learning. Positive impact on pupils’ speaking and listening skills. Increased pupil motivation. Increased levels of staff confidence to support pupils’ language learning, even though the majority of teaching staff involved were non-Spanish speakers.”
