About Telugu

Telugu is mostly spoken in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and is one of the 22 official languages of India. It is in the same language family as Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil and, like them, is agglutinative, which means it can add multiple suffixes to a root to refine meaning. This can result in very long words! The Dravidian vocabulary which makes up most of Telugu is embellished by Sanskrit and English.
