When I run the disc, nothing happens: there is no text, video or sound – just a black / grey screen or box

If you are seeing blanks or if the program freezes shortly after loading, please download a fix here.

Once it has downloaded, run the file that ends in ‘.exe’. Once it has installed, restart your computer and then try running the disc again.

If the program still does not work, you will need to check that the User Account Control has been enabled (find out how here) then re-install the patch using the Administrator account on the computer.

If you continue to see blanks in your program after installing the fix, try downloading the latest version of QuickTime, which is free from the Apple website.
