First of all, you need to switch off the ‘Aero’ feature on Windows Vista:
- Right click on the Desktop, and select ‘Personalise.’
- A list of options will appear. Click on Windows Colour and Appearance (should be at the top of the list).
- A colour scheme will appear. click the link ‘Open Classic Appearance Properties’.
- A window will appear. If ‘Windows Aero’ is selected in the list shown, select a different variation e.g. ‘Vista Basic’, then click ‘Apply’ then ‘OK’ and see if this resolves the problem.
